Abstract
The military attack and damage to part of the South Pars gas refineries during the Ramadan War was one of the most bitter events in the country’s energy industry; an event that not only reduced a significant amount of gas production, but also raised serious concerns about the energy supply of industries and households. However, in the midst of this heavy damage, a fundamental question can be raised:
Can this crisis become the starting point for a structural restructuring of the country’s gas and energy industry?
The answer to this question depends more on how we view the country’s energy future than on simply repairing the damage. Today, more than ever, there is an opportunity to open a new path for deep and lasting reforms from the threat.
