Abstract
In this study, the hydrate formation kinetics of tetrahydrofuran in the presence of the amino acid glycine as kinetic inhibitors have been investigated. In a double batch reactor with constant wall temperature (0Ċ), atmospheric pressure and various of glycine (0.05 to 1.5 wt%) have been performed. The results showed that with increasing concentrations of glycine in water and tetrahydrofuran, time delay hydrate hydrate equilibrium temperature increases and the amount reduced. Also, a solution of 1.5 wt% glycine, with decreased hydrophobicity system, the maximum delay time and the least amount of hydrate equilibrium temperature of hydrate formation is THF.
