Introduction and Mission
The Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering (IJGE) is published with the aim of advancing scientific knowledge, promoting applied research, and fostering effective collaboration among universities, industry, and research institutions in the fields of oil, gas, petrochemicals, and related industries. By publishing original, innovative, and problem-oriented research findings, the journal seeks to contribute to the enhancement of technical knowledge, the exchange of professional experiences, and the development of emerging technologies in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Providing a suitable platform for the exchange of scientific ideas among researchers, specialists, and industry practitioners is also among the journal’s primary missions.
As one of the specialized journals in the field of gas engineering and energy industries in Iran, the Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering is committed to improving the quality of scientific and applied research and expanding the frontiers of knowledge through a double-blind peer-review process, adherence to publication ethics, and compliance with recognized scientific and scholarly standards.
The Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering was established in 2014 (1393 SH) under the authorization of the Commission for Scientific Publications of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and is published by the Iranian Gas Engineering Society. The journal was issued as a biannual publication until the end of 2024 (1403 SH) and has been published quarterly since 2025 (1404 SH). The journal publishes articles in Persian.
In line with its Open Access policy, the journal does not charge authors any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, acceptance, or publication. The journal follows the regulations governing Article Processing Charges (APCs) for open-access scholarly journals established by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
The Iranian Gas Engineering Society, as the publisher and owner of the journal, appoints the Editorial Board members. The Editorial Board is responsible for selecting reviewers, evaluating peer-review reports, making decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection, and supervising the scientific publication process. The journal's publication and executive management are also carried out by the Society.
To ensure scientific integrity and adherence to research ethics, all submitted manuscripts are screened through a similarity-checking system prior to entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts are then evaluated by qualified experts and reviewers in the relevant fields.
Aims and Objectives
Types of Accepted Articles
The Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering welcomes original and innovative manuscripts presenting new scientific and research achievements in the fields of oil, gas, petrochemicals, and other related disciplines.
Research Articles
Research Articles report original, innovative, and scientifically rigorous studies aimed at expanding the boundaries of knowledge, addressing scientific and industrial challenges, or presenting new findings. Such articles should demonstrate scientific merit and practical applicability in relevant fields.
Short Communications
Short Communications are similar in content to Research Articles but are presented in a concise format, with a maximum length of four pages. These articles are intended for the rapid dissemination of preliminary research results, novel findings, or progress reports of ongoing research projects.
Scientific-Promotional Articles
These articles are prepared with the objective of disseminating, interpreting, and promoting scientific knowledge and achievements. They focus on the analysis, interpretation, and application of existing knowledge within a specific field. Supported by reliable references, such articles contribute to the development of applied knowledge and the enhancement of scientific awareness among readers.
Review Articles
Review Articles provide analytical, comparative, and critical assessments of research conducted in a specific field over recent years. These articles identify current knowledge status, research trends, challenges, knowledge gaps, and future research directions. Review papers must be based on a comprehensive examination of relevant and up-to-date scholarly sources.
Open Access Policy and Authors’ Rights
The Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering follows a Full Open Access publishing model. All published articles are freely and permanently accessible immediately upon publication to researchers, students, professionals, and the general public without any restrictions.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). Accordingly, the use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation of published content are permitted provided that appropriate credit is given to the original source. Authors retain responsibility for the accuracy of the data, analyses, interpretations, and opinions presented in their articles.
Publication Ethics
The Iranian Journal of Gas Engineering adheres to the principles and guidelines of publication ethics and follows the international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members are expected to comply with the principles of research integrity, academic honesty, avoidance of plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other forms of research misconduct.
The journal also maintains policies for preventing plagiarism, data fabrication and falsification, manipulation of research results, duplicate submission or publication, and conflicts of interest. Any ethical violations will be addressed in accordance with COPE guidelines and procedures.
